Palm Springs Cocktail Carpets
Jennifer's inspiration for these cute little mats came from the homes in Palm Springs, Ca. They capture the fun, frivolity, and lightness of mid-century-modern style. The clean lines, cheery colors and asymmetry of line structure are very pleasing to the eye.
This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Palm Springs Cocktail Carpets that were designed by Jennifer E Kwong for Handwoven, March/April 2023.
Weave Structure: plain weave & huck lace
Yarns: 8/4 Cotton in Ivory, Dark Navy and Gold.
Note: We have made similar substitutions for the Maurice Brassard 8/4 cotton yarns from the original pattern.
Equipment needed: 3-shaft or rigid heddle loom; 6” weaving width; 12 dent reed; 1 shuttle; 2 bobbins; 1 pick-up stick for rigid heddle loom.
Finished Dimensions: six cocktail carpets 5" × 6" including fringe.
