Cottage Tea Towels

This is a lovely set of towels for your country cottage or home.  The deep blue, green and turquoise with a hint of white remind Tammy of hot sunny days at her grandparents’ cottage.

The first towel uses all 4 colors in the weft which create a lovely, braided look to the selvedges.  The second towel uses just white for the weft.

As a set, the darker towel is perfect for a hand towel (it hides the dirt!) while the white towel works well for dishes.  

Weave structure: plain weave/color and weave

Skill Level: Intermediate…The pattern itself is not difficult; however it will take some concentration to warp correctly and patience to use multiple shuttles.

Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 Cottons Dark Navy, Light Turk, and Plum Green.

Equipment needed: rigid heddle loom; 24” weaving width, 10 dent reed, 5 shuttles (boat or stick)

Finished size:  two towels approximately 18” x 26.5
